The Oaks Pubs + Kitchens group is a collection of award winning country pubs and bistros in the UK, co-founded and run by Henry Cripps.

As with the rest of the country, when the lockdown was implemented by government, all the sites immediately closed and staff were put on furlough. However, Henry wanted to find any avenue possible to stay engaged with his loyal customer base and secure cashflow for the business.

Turning to takeaway

With all the stores closed, supermarkets struggling to keep shelves stacked and communities desperate for supplies – Henry turned to Kitchen CUT F+B To Go so he could help the local communities.

Initially, the Oaks Group created veg boxes and offered crates of wine to customers. Within minutes of announcing the products on Instagram, they received their first order.

500 burgers in 5 minutes

The success of the veg and wine boxes gave Henry the confidence to offer takeaway food. The Oaks Group decided to still kept it simple: make delicious burgers.

Demand surpassed Henry’s greatest expectations, with 500 burgers sold in under 5 minutes – all for collection by the customer.
